in three languages
Longhand is a three-day writing festival with talks in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The old programme was three booklets.
One 48-page programme with the three languages side by side, a colour for each stage and a fold-out map of the site.
The festival printed one run instead of three, and the programme sold out on the second day.
Longhand brings sixty writers to a farm outside Lisbon for three days. Visitors carried three booklets and still missed talks.
Each talk sits in one row with its three translations side by side, so friends can read the same page together.
The four stages each have a colour that also appears on the tents and the fold-out map.
